Antique Oak Breakfront Bookcase Cupboard Hathaway Dresser by Leonard Wyburd for Liberty and Co, c1900
A stylish oak “Hathaway” Arts & Crafts sideboard or dresser by Liberty & Co. of London. Around 1900, renowned designer Leonard Wyburd created this highly sought-after dresser for Liberty. Open central raised section with a single plate shelf inside a formed surround. Raised and shaped gallery back above an overhanging cornice. Central frieze cutlery drawer with breakfront plank top. Flanked by two “sentry box” cupboards, each with a green bullion hand-blown glass panel, heart shaped escutcheon, that opens to reveal fitted shelves. Original iron ring handles and backplates for the doors and drawers. Elevated on a curved surround, with an additional central open storage space at the base. Super original condition throughout. Original ivorine label to rear. Locks stamped “Liberty & Co”
