Antique Oak Welsh Country Lambing Chair, c 1750
A rare Welsh solid oak lambing chair, dating from the mid eighteenth century. A superb example with shaped back over large fielded panel back. Shaped wings over flat shaped arms.
Ample sized rope seat with loose herringbone cushion. Raised and fielded panel to the front below the seat. Atypical side full width seat drawer (purportedly used to keep sickly lambs warm). Excellent colour and patination throughout, solid and sturdy.
